Photo Contest Information and Rules 2020:
Lawrence County Partners for Preservation (LCPP)
In Cooperation with:
Arts & Education at the Hoyt (The Hoyt)
Lawrence County Historical Society (Historical Society)
This contest is open to individuals (artist) (ages 12 +) living in or outside of Lawrence County.
Prizes: 1st Place…..$100
Photo Submission Deadline for all submissions is Saturday, July 1, 2020.
There is no submission entry fee.
Artists may submit up to three (3) digital photos for the competition.
Entries must be an original photo taken by the photographer showing some significant architectural detail of a structure, interior or exterior, that is over 50 years old, such as a building, house, church, cemetery, barn, bridge, etc. in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.
The architectural detail should be obvious and be the main focus of the photo.
Photos may be enhanced but the feature must be recognizable and suitable viewing for all age groups.
Photos can be in color, sepia, or black and white: Landscape or portrait orientation.
There are two ways to enter the photo.
A: Send the digital file of the photo to firstname.lastname@example.org
Make sure the digital photo is cropped to 11×14 scaling.
B: Print the photo to 11×14 size (no borders larger than one inch).
Printed photos should be brought to the Historical Society (408 North Jefferson Street) on Tuesdays,Thursdays or Saturdays between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Selling Price of Photo (if applicable)
All submitting photographers must also agree to the following information and the rules of the competition:
– Participants agree to allow LCPP to copy, reprint and use your photos in LCPP’s literature and publicity
– Selected Photos will be featured at a professionally designed exhibit at The Confluence in downtown New Castle from August 11 to October 15.- Prints of the photos that are chosen for the show may be picked up at the Historical Society after October 31 and until November 21.
– Photos not picked up during that time become the property of LCPP. The Photo will be credited and
Photographer will retain copyright, publishing, and right to sell.
LCPP, Lawrence County Historical Society, Arts & Education at the Hoyt, and The Confluence cannot be held liable for damages that might be incurred during the time your photos are in their possession.
LCPP cannot be held liable for missing digital submissions. All emailed submissions will be acknowledged through a return email confirmation.
Winners will be announced by Saturday, August 1.
